WHY CALL IT 325 PRODUCTIONS UK?

Well, my career started off very differently to the one I have now.

Prior to embarking on a video production career I worked in care and education with disaffected young people, primarily as a carer in children’s homes, then at a boarding school for boys who were diagnosed with emotional and behavioural difficulties, as a residential social worker and then behaviour support manager.

After years of working in special needs I moved to mainstream education as a non teaching Head of Year and cover supervisor.

While this career was extremely fulfilling I had a yearn for broadening my horizons and exploring my creative side.

So, after a year travelling and working in Australia in 2008/9 I returned and enrolled as a full-time, mature student to study BA Media at the University of Brighton in 2010. It was during this time I began crafting my skills as a camera operator and editor.

However, I wasn’t satisfied being such a small cog in a big production machine and craved more direct experience working with clients to bring their vision to life.

After a period of unemployment and taking on part-time jobs, such as being a fishmonger, delivery driver and eventually a Production Manager for Media Brighton.

Alongside this part time work I began to build opportunities to create videos - largely music videos for friends and also began volunteering in Cats Protection’s PR department. It was here I was given an opportunity to create a video for the charity. This lead to another department within the charity hiring me, and another and another and soon my reputation grew to the point where I was receiving regular video production work.

After graduating with first class honours in 2013 I was lucky enough to secure a production assistant position at Ricochet TV, Brighton - working on programmes such as Cowboy Builders, Food Unwrapped and predominantly Mr Drew’s School for Boys, a very appropriate production after my previous career experience.

This inspired me to start my own freelance video production business 325productionsUK. Given that the switch in careers came from such a life affirming decision to return to put myself through higher education as a mature student, it seemed appropriate to name the business after my university login username - rs325.

I pride myself on bringing the communication skills and empathy required to work with disaffected young people to my video work. As well as the high standards and attention to detail I hold myself accountable to.
